tornado.

Mon Apr 13, 2009, 5:14 AM
so, on "Good Friday", my town was ravaged by tornadoes.
thus, my absence, i've been busy. i've been helping my parent's clean up their yard from debris- everything from insulation, shingles, picture frames and chunks of wall with wallpaper STILL ON THEM.
everyone i know is okay, thankfully, their homes weren't directly hit. but, some didn't have power back until yesterday evening.

from the local newspaper [link]
Final damage assessment reports by Murfreesboro Building and Codes employees indicate a total of 519 structures were impacted by an EF-3 tornado that ravaged northern and northeastern areas of the city Friday.
With estimated winds up to 165 mph, the devastating tornado killed a young mother, Kori Bryant, 30, and her infant daughter, Olivia, injured dozens of others and inflicted millions in property damage during its 15-mile long, half-mile wide path through the city's northern edges.

John Bryant, the victim's husband, remains in critical condition but is more alert, according to Middle Tennessee Medical Center spokeswoman Angie Boyd-Chambers.

Murfreesboro Police Maj. Clyde Adkison said assessors found that a total of 59 homes were totally destroyed, 182 had major damage, 109 had minor damage and 169 others were "affected."

welp, apparently i downloaded some corruptive version of Open Canvas - and it somehow killed those programs aforementioned.
so, now the computer can't support Photoshop :(
unfortunately... i am STILL waiting on our second computer to be completed :T .... needs quite a few little bits of hardware /sigh

i'm working on getting my real media skills up to snuff again, seeing as i can't improve photoshop skills WITHOUT STINKIN PHOTOSHOP.

also, my subscription ran out....but suddently, m'not feeling so bad about it (rofl)

in other news:
my son turned ONE this may! huzzah! we had a party... granted he may not remember it... it was more of a "yay! mama & dada survived a whole year! we kept the baby alive and healthy! woo!"
tehehe.
i now have a toddler. yikes. he has this fascination for "hunting" bugs outside. seriously, that little guy will STALK the bugs in the GRASS. so, seriously bugs, RUN WHILE YOU STILL CAN! or suffer the consequences of getting smooshed.
i have severe and crappy hay fever. T__T ugh.

birthdays and bummers.

so my 23rd birthday is April 14th.
damn, when did i get so stinkin OLD!?
hehe.
anyhoo.

no new art as of yet because Photoshop CS committed suicide. something corrupted it. so i had to uninstall it. was ready (CD in hand) to reinstall it... and no dice. so- i begrudgingly get my Photoshop Elements CD out and try that. nope. the CD drive has crapped out. won't read a damn thing. it won't even boot if there's a CD in the dang thing.

so. last night i ganked my old CD-RW drive from my parent's computer- (replace their old one, yadda yadda)- so here's to hoping (and a little praying) that the CD-drive is THE ONLY PROBLEM.

/sob
